Wedding Gown of Aya

This is the Wedding Gown I designed for Aya. Angking Francisco and I was uncertain on what kind of materials to use at first, good thing a friend told me to use ecru Dupioni or Shantung - crisp silk fabric with a subtle sheen and irregular surface texture formed by coarse threads called “slubs”.

I was also thinking of Duchesse Satin or Peau de Soie. We incorporated lace materials on the bodice and sleeves in floral and vignette patterns and embellished with silver and cream beadworks and miniscule sequins. The trailed skirt is also adorned with beadworks in organic and vigorous plume patterns.
